I am preparing an application to return to the dating game

By on December 19, 2020 0

Alone this Christmas? If you’re looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend to keep you warm and buy you presents, that sounds like a plan, Stan.

It seems virtually impossible to date this year during the pandemic. Is a socially distanced snog going to become a thing?

I’ve spoken to so many singles in need of a good… hug, and I feel their pain.

The invention of the dating app may have been created with this year in mind, but how do we manage our expectations and actually find something substantial and really go the distance?

Forget your profile picture which is 10 years old and we all know how far the editing apps have come. Everything is in the bio. I have to admit that I may have recently quit, laughed at and then transformed one of my good friend’s dating app bios much to his dismay.

Everything is done in good faith and love. I won’t name names, Stacey!

Her original biography was like a full-fledged novel – no children, traveled the world, loves art (a short story to me) her favorite food: crisps.

She’s going to kill me.

My suggestion was, less is more. If a guy can learn all of these facts about you so easily, why would he bother asking you more questions?

The same goes the other way. Ladies, we also like a bit of mystery.

Life is long, let’s take our time getting to know each other and, let’s be honest, most people lie in their bios anyway.

I went skiing once, spent half the time in the Jagermeister tent. Hobbies: skiing.

It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself using a dating app, not sure why as Laura’s text chat is a fire. Jokes run through me like the fine wine I usually drink.

I find you can also quickly Google something that the other person says you don’t quite understand.

Quick, what’s my return? I must look smart. You know it’s true.

Flirting can be fun behind a phone for a while, they’ll never know you’re sitting like a sweaty mess on the couch crying on Love Actually – it feels like most December nights.

Alright, I got ready to get back into the game, better call Stace to help me write my bio.

Jesy is right to go out

Sad but expected news from Jesy Nelson leaving Little Mix this week.

I had a hunch that something was wrong after watching his documentary on trolling.

I mean well on her. Having the courage to put your health first is an inspiration to all of us, fans or not.

I know we talk a lot about mental health, but I realized that mental and physical health are so closely related and the two influence each other so closely. Neither should go unnoticed.

Jesy stunned fans after announcing Little Mix release after nine years in the group

Jesy and so many other celebrities are often unfairly targeted by trolls.

I know the feeling to some extent. I don’t know when it became acceptable for us to scrutinize each other’s appearance.

Things need to change in my opinion before it is too late. More specifically, misogyny. It is rampant in pop culture and everyday life.

The very figure of a woman receives such narrow parameters of acceptance. If you stand out, it looks like a target is placed on you.

Being kind has never been so relevant. I look at my tattoo everyday and remember the loss, hoping that I can raise awareness and prevent more.

Bending the rules leaves me in bad taste

I would love to see my family at Christmas but we all have different situations.

Not everyone in the UK celebrates Christmas or has loved ones within the allowed distance limits.

To legally allow a certain religion to travel and mingle for five days and then (more than likely) introduce tougher foreclosure rules to overcompensate EVERYBODY is pure discrimination.

The restrictions should be based on pure science AND stop changing.

Yes, we are people with emotional needs but it is a virus. Everyone has different values, priorities, and important places to be on set dates.

The fact that this easing kicks in just for Christmas makes me understand more than ever why some people are having such a hard time respecting the decisions of our governments at this time.

Equality is at its lowest. I don’t blame people who change the rules to meet their needs and we need to be more understanding of each other, even if we don’t know the full story.
